Monte Vista Chamber: LOI call
Monte Vista Chamber: LOI call
August 5, 2026 2:30 pm - 2:55 pm
Call to discuss Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce’s Tourism Marketing Grant LOI. Let’s plan to connect via the Google Meet link in the invite.
Plan: Ok, attempting to keep it brief. The Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce recently completed both the Colorado Tourism Office's Destination Blueprint and Destination Development Mentor programs. These initiatives have been transformative for our community. Through the guidance of Beth Wright and Amy Cassidy, we developed a clear, strategic roadmap along with numerous actionable deliverables that have significantly advanced our tourism efforts and created tremendous momentum for our destination.
Here's where it gets tricky. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced a (VERY) significant reduction in our portion of the local tourism funding, putting that momentum at risk. Rather than scaling back, we have developed a strategic plan to maximize the impact of a CTO Tourism Marketing Grant and continue building on the foundation these programs established.
We are requesting the full grant amount to focus on three key initiatives:
1. Content Creation & Management: Implement the Shrpa platform, an end-to-end user-generated content (UGC) solution that combines professionally curated content creator visits, community photo submissions, and automated social media management. This turnkey platform will dramatically expand our content library, increase community engagement, and provide consistent, high-quality marketing with guaranteed deliverables.
2. Visit Monte Vista Website: Develop a dedicated tourism website to serve as the primary hub for visitors. As we continue investing in destination content, a standalone website will provide a dynamic, engaging platform that better showcases our attractions, events, and experiences than our current Chamber website landing page.
3. Marketing Collateral: Produce updated print materials, including a professionally designed tri-fold visitor brochure, new destination maps, and a comprehensive Visitor Guide to better serve travelers and strengthen our regional marketing efforts.
This investment will allow us to sustain the momentum created through CTO's own destination development programs, ensuring that the work already completed continues to generate measurable results for Monte Vista and the San Luis Valley.
Thank you for your consideration!
